Loop joins Lehigh Valley roster

Pitcher Derrick Loop, who was signed as a minor league free agent earlier this season, will join the Lehigh Valley IronPigs for the final two games of the International League season. The 26 year-old Loop was 4-1-0, 0.36 in 15 games with Clearwater this season and has pitched as high as Double-A when he was in the Red Sox organization in 2009.

Loop was initially drafted by Cleveland in the 26th round of the 2006 Draft and has a career mark of 26-11, 2.63 in 128 minor league games, 21 of them in independent leagues.

The ‘Pigs had roster spots open when pitchers Scott Mathieson, Vance Worley and Nate Robertson were all added to the Phillies 40 man roster following Saturday night’s game.
